LEUPOLD VX-FREEDOM 4-12X40 CDS DUPLEX SCOPE
The Leupold VX-Freedom 4-12x40 CDS Duplex is a lightweight and robust riflescope, designed primarily for stalking and medium- to long-range shooting. Its distinguishing feature is the CDS (Custom Dial System), which allows you to install a custom ballistic turret tailored to your specific ammunition to compensate for bullet drop simply by rotating the dial to the desired distance.
Main Technical Specifications
- Magnification and Objective: Versatile 4-12x range with 40mm objective lens.
- Reticle: Traditional duplex in second focal plane (size does not change with zoom).
- Weight: Approximately 371 grams, making it one of the lightest in its class.
- Tube: 1 inch (25.4 mm) diameter made of 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum.
- Optics: Advanced Optical System (or Twilight) that optimizes light transmission and reduces glare in twilight conditions.
- Adjustments: 1/4 MOA correction per click, with a total range of 80 MOA in both elevation and windage.
Featured Features
- CDS System with ZeroStop: Includes the option to order a free custom turret from Leupold. The ZeroStop system prevents the dial from accidentally rotating past zero.
- Extreme Durability: Subjected to Leupold's "Punisher" test, which simulates 5,000 impacts with a force three times greater than the recoil of a .308 Win.
- Construction: Completely waterproof and anti-fog thanks to nitrogen gas sealing.
- Fixed Parallax: Factory set to 150 yards (~137 meters), making it easy to use (set and forget) but less ideal for precision shooting at very short distances.
